CAPITOL GIVES BACK!

2019 has been an amazing year for community involvement at Capitol! Throughout our offices in Austin, San Antonio and Marble Falls, we’ve really been able to make an impact!

Here are some of the efforts that have touched our hearts the most so far this year!

Capitol was able to donate to the Westlake High School Project Graduation early this year! Project Graduation is an all night, alcohol-free and drug-free celebration for seniors immediately following the 2019 graduation ceremony.

In February 2019, a long time and amazing Physical Therapy Assistant of ours was in a horrible accident where she was ejected from her car, broke both her legs, her left hand, got staples in her head and lots of cuts and bruises all over.

Capitol rallied together and raised over $2,400 for her road to recovery!

We’re happy to report that our awesome PTA is back at work and doing what she loves most – treating our wonderful patients!

Towards the end of March, Capitol donated to the St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Pasadena. This donation was in memory of Father Skyles and went to aid their Food Pantry!

Capitol participated in the annual St. Baldrick’s Pierce Your Heart event again this year! We didn’t have anyone Brave the Shave as we have had in the past, but we had many volunteers and the Capitol Crusaders team was able to raise $4,350!

The 2019 Pierce Your Heart event raised over $55, 410 for childhood cancer research!

Capitol supports the mission to ending child poverty!

A Red Nose encourages people to come together, share a laugh and gives us all something to smile about while starting a conversation about what Red Nose Day is and its goal: to end child poverty one nose at a time! #RedNoseDay2019

Our 2019 Capitol Box Fan Drive wrapped up in June and talk about a major success! Not only were we able to donate 224 fans, we beat last years numbers! Our employees came together to donate 112 fans and then Capitol graciously matched that number! We also had great support from friends and family, which we are so thankful for!

Our annual Box Fan Drive helps keep our elderly population cool this summer throughout Central Texas! We can’t wait to beat these numbers next year!

Capitol helped the Austin Steelers Track Club make it out to the Jr. Olympics!

In July, Capitol was able to help sponsor a handful of kids experience Summer Horse Camp at SunCrest Farms this past month! The campers learned responsibility for the daily care, grooming and well-being of the horse. They received riding lessons daily, along with lessons on veterinary care and safety!

In August, Capitol donated to Packsaddle Elementary in Kingsland, TX. They have outdoor classrooms built out, but needed some monetary assistance to build awnings over them. That Texas heat!

Kingsland, TX is near and dear to Capitol’s heart as it’s in our service area and is where our owners, The Shults, call home!

On Saturday, 09.14.19, the Capitol Austin team rallied together and participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s! We had 20 employees plus their friends and families come out and walk which made us the largest group at the event!

The Capitol team also fund-raised and donated over $6,900 to the cause!

We are so proud of our employees for their efforts to help end Alzheimer’s. We had a blast at the event and cannot wait til next year!

On Saturday, 10.19.19, the Capitol SA team rallied together and participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s! We had 11 employees plus their friends and families come out and walk!

The Capitol team fundraised and donated over $1,660 to the cause! The San Antonio team also did something really neat to raise money, they auctioned of an “Alzheimer’s Quilt”! Congrats to Cassie on winning it and thank you to Agnes’ sister for crafting and donating it.

We are so proud of our employees for their efforts to help end Alzheimer’s.

Capitol was able to help the Four Points Middle School PTA by being a 2019 Fund Partner. By being a Fund Partner, 100% of our donation goes directly towards more than a dozen programs that improve the students’ academic learning environment, and supplement expenses for students in need of financial assistance.

The holidays are Capitol’s most favorite time of year. We were able to help sponsor the Riverbend Church’s Annual Christmas Sing-Along. Our donation, along with many others, allows this event to remain free to the public and helps add holiday cheer to all!

Keeping in line with the holiday spirit, Capitol also helped sponsor the Marble Falls 29th Annual Walkway of Lights! This free event is a great way to celebrate the holidays with over two million lights, photos with Santa, and so much more!

Education and children are very close Jane Shults’ heart. Capitol was able to donate to Liza Dora Books so she can donate her books to libraries all over the US and continue to create content that encourages parents, entertains children and celebrates families!

Thanks to the suggestion of one of our team members, Capitol was able to donate to Sleep in Heavenly Peace to help make sure that children all over the US have a bed to sleep in.

Sasha also volunteered to help build some of the beds for Sleep in Heavenly Peace as well!
