Who pays for home health?
Home health services are covered by Medicare, Tricare, Medicare Advantage Plans, Worker’s Compensation, and all major insurances, such as United Healthcare, Aetna, Humana, Cigna, and many more. Do you have questions about your specific plan? Give us a call or an email and we’ll be happy to help explore and explain your home health coverage.
Does Medicare pay for home health?
Yes, Medicare pays 100 percent of the cost for home health. Most individuals who are 65 years of age and older or permanently disabled are eligible for Medicare. If the individual has difficulty leaving the home setting and requires the skills of a licensed nurse, physical therapist, speech therapist, medical social work services, occupational therapist or home care aide for acute or chronic medical conditions, he or she may be eligible for services provided by a Medicare-certified home health agency. The referring physician must direct and periodically oversee the patient’s plan of care.
Do you offer an option for private pay if my insurance does not cover home health?
Capitol Home Health provides private pay services to individuals who are not eligible for traditional home care or are in need of assistance beyond what your insurance provides. Please contact our office at (512) 467-6900 to go over out rates and payment options.

Home health patients must be under the supervision of a physician.
Is it true that patients tend to heal faster in the home?

“I am completing home health care for a total knee replacement. I used Capitol Home Health and they have done an outstanding job of taking care of my nursing and physical therapy needs. Before I was discharged from the hospital I was greeted by a representative from CHH. I explained that I lived in a very remote location and I had some concerns that CHH would not want to drive out to where I live. CHH quickly put my concerns at ease. The day after I got home a nurse came out to my house and set me up for nursing and wound care. Nurse Candy was great with my son who was concerned for my health and she allowed him to take notes as she went through her intake with me. The next day my PT, Kristi came out and assessed where I was and began working with me to rehabilitate my new knee. CHH has taken care of me for three weeks and I had no issues with wound care. With the help of the PT I have been able to regain 118 degrees of bend in my knee and I am well on my way to a totally successful outcome. The staff at CHH are invested and have their patents best interests at heart. If you get the chance to have them care for you take it, you will not be disappointed. I would use them again in a heartbeat if the need arose.”
